Got out for the first time this year on Thursday to see what trains I could
catch. Due to PTC Changeover at East/West Towers and the post-holiday slow
down, traffic wasn't great, but I made the most of what I had.
Thanks to radio communication between the DS and MOW/Switch Tenders I
learned there were two Z trains coming into town off of the Red River
Valley Sub. It took both trains nearly an hour to get from Pullman Rd. (RL
Amarillo) to the South Yard on account the MOW and Eastbound traffic. I was
set up at the Sundown Ln. Crossing when the first one rolled through.
I decided to move down to the Mack Rd. Grade crossing as I havent taken
many shots there before. I didnt have long to wait before the second train
was passing by
As I was packing up my gear, I heard the horn of an approaching eastbound.
I quickly set up again, and caught the weekly Repo train.
Thanks for looking
